If you’re anything like me, the change in seasons If you’re anything like me, the change in seasons always makes me want to sew new designs I’ve never considered before.🍂

I just refreshed my roundup of 29 sewing patterns that are perfect for fall, I’ve added some more details, patterns, and fabric recommendations this year. Imagine cozy layers, everyday dresses, skirts, trousers, pajamas, jackets, and more.

If you’re planning your fall sewing queue, this is a good place to start 🤎

➡️ Comment FALL and I’ll send you the link to the full roundup!

And if you’re saving this for later, save the post so you can come back when you’re ready to sew.
I never really thought about deadstock fabric and I never really thought about deadstock fabric and how it can fit into our me made wardrobes.

For this project, I partnered with Yardblox, a fabric shop that sells designer deadstock fabrics. I was gifted a couple yards of fabric for this collaboration. I chose a black and white cotton gingham.

There’s just one important detail: this particular fabric isn’t deadstock.
And honestly, that’s what got me thinking more about deadstock fabric.

Deadstock can be a wonderful option when building a thoughtful handmade wardrobe, and it’s easy to integrate into your own. Working on this new mini-series has got me thinking more about the fabric I choose, where it comes from, and how I can more intentionally integrate fabrics into my wardrobe.

I wrote more about why deadstock fabric has a place in a handmade wardrobe and what I’ve been thinking about when it comes to choosing fabric over on the blog.

I am finally back sewing…. After a busy spring an I am finally back sewing….

After a busy spring and summer with so many unexpected events, I took a bit of a hiatus from my machine.

Yesterday, I spent a majority of the day finishing a quilt top and piecing together the pattern pieces for the #leapattern by @silversagapatterns for a mini-series on the blog featuring some incredible deadstock cotton I was kindly gifted by @yardbloxfabrics.

I’ve got my sewjo back and it sure does feel good. ✨🫶🪡
If you’ve been looking for your next skirt sewing If you’ve been looking for your next skirt sewing project, I’ve got you. ✂️🌿

I rounded up 15 indie skirt sewing patterns that I think would make beautiful additions to a handmade wardrobe.

I especially looked for patterns that would work well with linen, cotton, and other natural-fiber fabrics, plus a mix of beginner-friendly styles and more detailed designs.

And because a list of 15 patterns can be a little overwhelming, I added some of my personal picks in this carousel, including where I’d start as a beginner and which patterns I’d reach for when sewing with linen.

➡️ Head to the link in my bio for the blog post with all the pattern links, fabric recs, and more. ✨
