Hello! My name is Alex.
I created this space to inspire sewists to slow down, sew with intention, and build a handmade wardrobe using natural fibers. Whether you’re new to sewing or just looking for inspiration for your next project you’re in the right place.
I’m a firm believer in using natural fibers, timeless silhouettes, and the joy of creating with your own two hands. Here at Wool Wren Studio, you’ll find sewing tutorials, fabric guidance and recommendations, styling ideas, and free patterns to help you feel confident at your machine and in your clothes.
My style is rooted in nature — earthy greens, soft neutrals, and pieces I know I’ll wreach for again and again. Each project I share is crafted with care and a deep appreciation for slow fashion.
I’m an American living in Alberta, Canada. When I’m not sewing, you can find me gardening, baking, or searching the community for the next Free Pattern Friday.

How It All Started
Wool Wren Studio began the way many good things do — with a deep love for working with my hands and a longing for something more intentional.
I taught myself to sew out of curiosity, frustration, and a desire to create clothes that were made of natural fibers. After not being able to find styles I liked that were also within my budget, I decided to put the machine that was gifted to my sister and I as girls from my grandmother back to use.
This hobby quickly became a passion. I fell in love with natural fibers, thoughtful design, and the quiet joy of slow sewing. Over time, I began sharing my projects on Instagram, connecting with others who felt the same pull toward mindful making and self-expression.
Wool Wren Studio grew from that little spark — a place where creativity, community, and craftsmanship come together. Today, it’s where I share free patterns, styling tips, sewing tutorials, and encouragement for anyone who wants to create a wardrobe with heart.
