When Son de Flor reached out and kindly gifted me a dress from their new Fall & Winter 2026 collection, I was especially excited to see the Frida Dress in Moss Green. It feels like such a natural fit for my natural fiber wardrobe.
The Fall & Winter 2026 collection officially launches on August 13, and today I’m sharing a first look at the dress I chose, why I was drawn to it, and how I’m planning to wear it into the fall and beyond.

The 100% Linen Frida Dress in Moss Green
The dress I chose is the Frida Dress in Moss Green in a size S. It’s a long-sleeved linen dress with a classic button-front bodice, a shirt-style collar, a ¾ circle skirt, and full pockets. The long sleeves add extra warmth for the colder months while the ¾ circle skirt still gives this dress that timeless element I love in the garments I choose to wear.
What really drew me to this dress was the new color Son de Flor has added to the Fall & Winter 2026 collection. I’m a sucker for green hues that are natural and muted. While I do love the Evergreen color of my Wrap Dress, there’s something about the warmer Moss Green colorway that I was instantly drawn to.

Moss green is one of those colors that feels incredibly easy to wear. It has that earthy, gentle tone that I love. It fits well into my wardrobe as I wear a lot of warm beige and browns in the colder days of fall and winter.
The overall silhouette is equally classic. The button-front placket and shirt-style collar give the dress a slightly traditional feel, while the ¾ circle skirt keeps it feminine and relaxed. I can move well in it whether I wear this dress around the house or to church, yet I know I’m wearing something that is timeless and me.
It’s the kind of design that I can imagine wearing for years rather than just for one season.
Why I Chose the Frida Dress
One of the things I consider when building my wardrobe is choosing pieces that work with what I already own.
I love clothing that can be styled in several different ways and worn through different seasons. While linen is often associated with summer wardrobes, I actually think it can be a really beautiful fabric for fall when thoughtfully layered with my existing handmade garments.
That versatility is what drew me to this dress.
The moss green color feels perfect for fall and winter, while the long sleeves give it a little more coverage than many of the linen dresses I reach for during the warmer months. And because it’s made from linen, it will still offer me the warmth and durability I desire in the clothes I choose for my fall and winter wardrobe.
First Impressions of the Linen Frida Dress
There are so many little details that I appreciate about the design of this dress.
The button-front makes the dress feel versatile and classic. I love pieces that can be worn buttoned up for a more polished look or styled a little more casually with a few of the buttons undone.
The collar adds another timeless detail. It gives the dress a more structured appearance without making it feel overly formal. I love the polished look of the Frida collar.
And then there’s the ¾ circle skirt, which is probably my favourite part of the silhouette. It’s a Son de Flor staple. Their skirts always move so effortlessly. This element is feminine without feeling restrictive. There’s something so effortless about a dress that flows with me throughout the day rather than clings to me.
I also really love that the dress has long sleeves. For a fall wardrobe, I immediately have me more styling options. I can wear the sleeves down or rolled up. And since the Frida Dress is made of soft yet durable 100% linen fabric, I can wear even my most rustic wool knits and still feel perfectly comfortable.
How Does the Size S Fit?
I chose a size S, which is the size I wear in Son de Flor based on my measurments.
There are a couple of aspects of the Frida Dress that are different than the Classic Dress and Wrap Dress from Son de Flor that I already own.

Just like the Classic Dress, the Frida Dress has a front button placket. I love this style, but the Frida bodice fits me differently in several ways. There seems to be extra fabric making the bust a little too big. There is extra room visible through the front and back of the dress. The last three buttons are closed, so the Frida Dress is, unfortunately, not breastfeeding-friendly like the Classic Dress. But these closed buttons help to add warmth to the bodice. When I wear the Classic Dress without any layers beneath it, the open button placket makes the dress feel a bit cooler to wear.
When I sit slouched in the Frida Dress, the extra fabric rides up unless I pull the dress down before sitting. However, the extra room, along with the invisible zipper along the left side of the bodice, makes this dress easy to get on and off. I think if I wore an XS, I would have a hard time getting out of this dress.
The waist, sleeve, and skirt length fit me beautifully. The sleeves are long enough to be at bracelet length when my arms are extended. The button plackets at the wrists allow me to roll the sleeves up when the fall days are still a little bit warmer.
I would suggest wearing this dress in your normal size. I think the added room in the bust would be ideal for layering over warm layers in the winter.
My goal with my clothing reviews is to always share how something actually fits and feels. I want you to fall in love with your slow fashion wardrobe as much as I have, so sharing my honest opinion about how slow fashion brands fit my body is something I find important in sharing with you.
How I’m Planning to Style this Natural Fiber Dress for Fall and Winter
I already have several outfits in mind that I can wear for seasons and years to come.
With boots and a cardigan
I’ll probably reach for this outfit the most.
A pair of my favorite black Blundstone boots with the moss green linen feels like an easy fall combination. I’d add my wool Traveler’s Cardigan for extra warmth and texture.
The combination of linen and wool is one of my favorite things about dressing for the colder seasons. The two natural fibers have such different textures, and together they make an outfit feel much more interesting and personal.
Layered under a handknit wool sweater
Another option would be to layer a sweater over the dress.
I love the idea of wearing the dress almost like a skirt, with a cozy sweater over top. The collar peeking out at the neckline would add a nice detail, while the 3/4 circle skirt would still give the outfit some shape.
This kind of outfit is an easy one to wear around for slow days at home. Especially when worn with my favorite wool slippers.
Over a cotton long sleeve with a thrifted cotton sweater
Once the weather gets properly cold, I can see this dress working well over a thin cotton base layer and under a thrifted cotton sweater I’ve been wearing for years.
The moss green would look beautiful with a variety of secondhand garments from sweaters to cardigans, coats and jackets.
Can You Wear Linen in Fall and Winter?
I think linen sometimes gets put into a very specific category: summer clothing.
And while linen is absolutely wonderful in warm weather, I don’t think it needs to disappear from your wardrobe once September arrives. For me, layering during the cooler seasons is key. I find it helps to extend the wear of those natural fiber pieces we really love.
A long-sleeved linen dress can become the foundation of an outfit rather than the entire outfit itself. Add a wool cardigan, sweater, cotton underskirt, jacket or coat, tights, and boots, and suddenly the same dress can work in much cooler temps.
I also really enjoy the combination of wearing different natural fibers. Linen has a beautiful texture and drape, while wool adds warmth and softness. Together, they create the kind of layered outfit that feels cozy without being overly complicated.
My Thoughts on the Fall & Winter 2026 Collection
What I appreciate about Son de Flor is how their pieces tend to have a timeless quality.
Rather than feeling like something that only belongs to one particular trend or season, their dresses and skirts have silhouettes that can become part of your wardrobe for years. The colors in this collection aren’t drab but each tells a story and will be fashionable for years to come.
That’s especially important to me when I’m choosing pieces to add to my closet.
I don’t necessarily want more clothes. I want to own clothes I’m excited to wear.

The Frida Dress feels like a piece that I will treasure for years to come. The earthy colour, natural and durable linen, classic collar and button-front bodice, and easy A-line silhouette all feel very much in line with the way I want to dress — simple, comfortable, natural, and timeless.
I’m especially looking forward to seeing how it works as we move from late summer into fall. I can already picture it with boots, wool layers, and plenty of cozy accessories, out to special occasions and for slow days at home.
