About this Free Dress Pattern

The Marina dress is for the sewist who has some basic skills but may want to explore design features like a ruffled bodice, invisible zipper, and an inner lining.

The tie straps are simple, but give this dress an elevated, feminine feel. The fitted bodice features a ruffled design and an invisible zipper for the perfect fitted look. A full slit for this skirt assures you’ll be able to move comfortably whether you’ll be spending Saturday morning at the farmer’s market or dancing the night away at a friend’s wedding.

This dress is designed for light to medium weight woven fabrics, so you can choose your favorite cotton, lightweight linen, rayon, or viscose. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can make up the bodice in contrasting fabrics as it’s made up of several panels.

Why I love this pick –

I haven’t had a chance to make this pattern yet, but Tash’s Marina Dress is the perfect garment for more formal events this spring and summer. I’m a sucker for simple, yet elevated details in sewing patterns. The tie straps add a feminine detail that are easy, yet elegant.

The fitted bodice and a-line skirt are classic and timeless design features perfect for any season of life. The options for mini and midi lengths make this pattern versatile, so you can customize it based on your preferred look!

The pattern instructions include detailed photos that are bright and clear. Tash’s writing is so friendly – it’ll feel like she’s sewing right there with you! They’re well written and detailed, so you can be confident in making the dress of your dreams.

This dress would be gorgeous in a soft floral rayon or a lightweight solid black linen, depending on the look you’re going for!
